Storage (created in Copper Leg Art Residency), stone, 2021
The installation is made of stones, with carved volumes of memory referring to digital storage.
A huge amount of information is stored in the modern world, and its quantity is only growing. Since such volumes are usually expressed in numbers and are not tangible, they seem to be something ephemeral, insignificant. The consumption of digital resources, unlike material resources, is an invisible problem, but at the same time it’s consuming real resources and having an impact on the environment. With the help of objects, I am trying to visualize the entire huge amount of information that is being created, stored and accumulated.
